Hello Design Lovers!
This year is flying by. I can't believe tomorrow is March already! Before we know it, spring time will be here and I don't know about you, but I'm very much looking forward to some warm weather!
I realized I never shared my living room design for my lovely clients in Upper Saddle River on the blog. Better late than never though, right??
I was hired by my clients to decorate their formal yet not so formal living room. This room is the first room you see as you walk through the front door and for the longest time, it was left vacant since they didn't know how to decorate the room as far as furniture layout.
My clients are not really formal types of people so they wanted it to look presentable and well thought out but it was important to them to have the style match the rest of the house.
First things first. I had to design the space knowing they needed to have clear access to the double doors leading to their gym. So with that in mind, I designed a seating area around the focal point of the room: the living room. I created an additional seating area by the windows while making sure the room flowed properly.
My clients wanted to incorporate some leather into the design and so that was my starting point when I began sourcing furniture. I mixed in some upholstered pieces like the sofa and the two chairs that are by the windows to break up the leather and give the space a warm, inviting feel.
Anchoring the room with a vintage inspired rug was exactly what this living room needed. My clients had a few African inspired decor pieces they wanted to use so I found a home for them on the built in bookcases.
This was a really fun room to decorate and my clients were the absolute sweetest! I'm so honored I had the opportunity to work with them on one of the last projects in their home.
