Hello Design Lovers!
I hope everyone is enjoying the spring weather! Unfortunately for us here in New Jersey, it's been pretty chilly lately but I'm hoping it'll warm up nicely in May. So I'm a little behind with sharing my projects (as usual) but I'm really excited to share this one with you.
This was a fun project to work on. My client is a sweet, young, fun woman who didn't want her apartment to be boring. She wanted her space to have some color and personality but didn't want it to look over the top.
The wall color was our starting point. She hadn't moved into her apartment yet so we had a clean slate to work with. The walls were in pretty rough shape and had to get repaired before we started anything. We also removed the drop ceiling all throughout the bedroom and living room which really opened the space up to reveal tall ceilings and beautiful crown molding. We opted for a Manchester Tan by Benjamin Moore.
Next up, my client wanted a sectional that has a nice pop of color. She didn't want me to find just a plain, ordinary looking sofa so the search began! The sectional we selected is from Anthropologie and it is a truly unique piece! It's the Carroll Contrast Piping Sectional and I'm in love! It's the most perfect piece for that eclectic feel.
My client already owns a leather chair from West Elm which fit perfectly into the design. A colored, vintage inspired rug anchors the living room and brings in a little more color without being too over the top. Simple curtains dress up the windows while Peruvian mirrors adds a little something extra, complimenting the sectional.
Let's move onto her bedroom which is right off the living room. This space is light, bright, and airy making the perfect home for her plants to sit close by the window. Her dressers were given to her by a family member so it added a vintage feel in the space which was easy to work with.
We opted for a really pretty headboard with a subtle pattern that complimented the soft lines in the mirror brining in a Moroccan feel. We dressed the bed in a linen duvet with a mix of patterns and textures for the pillows. Finally, we anchored the bedroom with a vintage rug that ties in the colors of the bedding.
We spruced up the bathroom by painting the walls white, replacing the flooring, getting a new pedestal sink, and medicine cabinet. And what a HUGE difference this was! I wish I had before photos to show what a great transformation this was.
I'm so happy with the way my client's apartment came out and she is just as happy (if not more) happy with her cozy, eclectic space!
