This winter has definitely dragged this year, at least that’s what it feels like for us in New Jersey. Luckily, Spring has sprung and we’ve been feeling the warmer temperatures here and there.
I’m sure lots of you have been itching to get your spring cleaning going (I know I have!). For some, it can be a daunting experience but I personally enjoy a good spring cleaning. I’ve broken down some important items to clean throughout each room in the house. This should only take a day or two depending on the size of your home.

I’ve broken down some important items to clean throughout each room in the house. This should only take a day or two depending on the size of your home.
Make sure to dust off your walls first because yes, vertical walls tend to attract dust, not just flat horizontal surfaces/walls. Mix dishwashing detergent with warm water to clean satin and semi-gloss paint finishes. Make sure to have another bucket filled with clean, warm water to “rinse” and then dry away any water drips with a towel. You can use a sponge to clean the walls or an extendable wall washer like this one from Amazon.
(make sure to read the label as some may be dry clean only).

This is a good time to air out your mattress. It helps if you open up some windows on a nice day to let some fresh air in.
Pay attention to the labels on your curtains. Some may be dry clean only.
You’re going to want to remove everything in your fridge and freezer. Take out all of the food, condiments, etc. and ideally it’s best to turn off your fridge and let it cool down before you use warm water to do a deep clean (the glass and ceramic could crack if they’re cold and come into contact with warm water). Mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda and a quart of hot water then rinse with a damp cloth and wipe clean.
Take off any removable parts and scrub with soapy steel wool. Make sure to do a thorough cleaning of every nook and cranny.

Just because they don’t look dirty, it doesn’t mean they aren’t. People tend to forget about cleaning their upholstered pieces which is very important for overall hygiene.
This includes your TV, sound system, speakers, cables, cable boxes, etc. Pretty much clean any surface that collects dust.
